Q: I am pondering about switching from GM’s AC-Delco oil to a premium synthetic that fulfills Dexos requirements in a 60,000-mile Chevrolet Tahoe. The dealership says — due to the fact I failed to transform to Mobil1 or other top quality oil in the very first 20,000 miles — I am going to see no gain now.

I have browsed YouTube engine teardowns and see oil varnish and bearing/lifter have on from weak servicing. It triggers me to question why not shell out much more on oil? Even Dexos standards have a short while ago adjusted from partial artificial to complete.

Wherever do you stand on an engine flush for a mid-mileage engines? Beneficial or dangerous? My type of motor has lifter roller problems due to the cylinder shutoff characteristic, far more of a purpose in my mind for much better oil.
